Training and Experience |
Catharine Lloyd is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in the state of Virginia. She completed her Master of Social Work degree at Virginia Commonwealth University, and her Bachelor of Arts in English and Creative Writing at Emory University in Atlanta, GA.
Catharine has experience providing behavioral health services to children, adolescents, adults, and families. She completed clinical internships at Fredericksburg Counseling Services and Mary Washington Hospital. Prior to entering private practice, Catharine worked in a community mental health setting providing individual therapy, group therapy, as well as drug court treatment. Catharine works with children, adolescents, and adults who present with a wide range of concerns including anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, depression, grief, adjustment issues, family/relationship issues, and substance use disorders. |
Therapeutic Approach |
Catharine uses an integrative and evidence-based treatment approach, drawing from techniques in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), mindfulness practices, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. She strives to create a safe and collaborative therapeutic relationship where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to reach their goals.
