Training and Experience

Dr. Meline is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in the state of Virginia.  She completed her Doctorate of Social Work at the University of Kentucky, Masters of Social Work at Virginia Commonwealth University, and her Bachelors of Arts in Sociology at the University of Mary Washington (formerly Mary Washington College). Dr. Meline is a life-long resident of Virginia and a native of the Stafford region. Her 20 year career has primarily focused on providing clinical and supervisory services in the Fredericksburg, Stafford, and Spotsylvania areas.

Dr. Meline has training and experience in working children, adolescents, families, and adults who present with a variety of issues including: PTSD/trauma, disrupted attachment, anxiety, depression, behavioral difficulties, family difficulties, and mood disorders. She has specialized training in treating the effects of disrupted attachment and trauma in individuals and families with a focus on those with histories of foster care or adoption. Dr. Meline is trained in Attachment Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy and is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional.

Dr. Meline has trained with The Parent Child Attachment Clinic and EMDRIA.  She has worked in various settings including community mental health, therapeutic foster care, intensive in-home, juvenile corrections, and the school setting.  As a long-time resident of the area, she is very familiar with local resources and agencies and provides collaborative care at your request.

Therapeutic Approach

Dr. Meline believes in strengthening outcomes for families, children, and adolescents using an integrative approach including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Attachment Therapy, Mindfulness techniques, play techniques, family systems techniques, and Motivational Interviewing techniques.  She values a whole family approach and is committed to creating an environment in which all members feel safe, encouraged, validated, and supported to achieve their therapeutic goals
